Kitchen installation and renovation in Almere

Almere is our home base. Our warehouse is here, our fitters live here, and a good share of the kitchens we install are within fifteen minutes' drive. That makes a practical difference. If something goes wrong, we can be back the same afternoon.

Most kitchens in Almere date from the eighties and nineties. The cabinets from that time are often still straight. It is the doors, the worktop and the appliances that are worn. Then renovating is almost always cheaper than a new kitchen. Bought a new one? We install that too, whatever the brand.

What it costs

In Almere we charge the same as everywhere else in our area. Travel time is covered by the fixed call-out charge.

As a private customer you pay the amount including 21% VAT. Every item is listed separately on your quote. All rates are on our price page.

No kitchen in Almere is older than 1975

Literally none. The first home in Almere Haven was handed over in November 1976, and everything else was built after that. Of the more than 94,000 homes, almost a third date from the nineties and another quarter from the eighties.

That is good news for you. With nothing pre-war, we rarely find sloping floors, walls that are out of square or a fuse box hidden behind a boarded-up cupboard. We can often measure up on the day and install the week after, where a city centre takes two visits.

It also means something else. A kitchen from 1990 is now 35 years old, and it was built solidly. So we regularly talk people here out of buying a new kitchen. See kitchen renovation for what you can do instead.

Haven and Buiten cook on gas. Stad and Poort do not

This is the biggest difference within our own city, and many people only find out when they start a renovation.

Almere Stad, Almere Poort and Noorderplassen are on district heating, about 47,000 homes together. There is no gas pipe to the kitchen, so induction is a given and there is nothing to cap off.

Living in Haven or Buiten and switching from gas to induction? Then you need a separate group, sometimes a heavier connection, and the gas pipe capped off properly by someone qualified to do it. Where Almere buys its kitchens

Most kitchens in this city are bought at the Doemere retail park in Almere Buiten, where several kitchen shops sit together on the Miamistraat and the New Yorkweg. There are more on the Markerkant, the Gooisekant, the Antennestraat and the Papiermolenweg. The nearest IKEA is in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

We install them all. You buy your kitchen at one of those shops, take installation out of the quote and call us. That often saves hundreds of euros, and you get someone you can actually reach by phone. New worktop or new fronts

In most Almere kitchens the cabinets are still fine. Then a new worktop is often the biggest improvement for the money. A composite, ceramic or natural stone worktop is measured with a template, and we fit it as soon as the stoneworks have it ready. You keep cooking on your old worktop in the meantime. Nobelhorst and Oosterwold: delivered as a shell

In the newest parts of Almere, homes are often handed over as a shell: no kitchen, sometimes no pipes in the right place, and a fuse box not yet ready for electric cooking. Then the work before the kitchen comes first: pipes, electrics and a fuse box that can handle it. See plumbing and electrics.

In Oosterwold you are responsible for your own road, greenery and drainage. So the drive to your door is sometimes a path you laid yourself. We ask in advance how close the van can get. A three-metre worktop does not want to be carried a hundred metres.

Getting the kitchen inside

Almere Haven was laid out with residential courtyards. The van parks at the edge of the courtyard, not at your door. We charge nothing extra for that, but we do plan the time for it. In the walk-up flats of Stedenwijk and De Werven there is rarely a lift, so the cabinets go up the stairs. Tell us which floor you live on and we bring an extra pair of hands.

Almere also has its own network of bus lanes and cycle paths running through the neighbourhoods. The shortest route on the map is often not the route for a van, so we ask how your house can be reached from the main road.
